Teaboy Audio Announcement
Hello Beta testers! We thank you so much for helping test Teaboy and hope that it has been of great help to you. We have been working hard on building the Teaboy client and infrastructure, and thank you for your patience. We have some big news to announce.
If you no longer wish to participate in this program, or do not wish to receive any more e-mails, please let us know at help@teaboyaudio.com so we can take you off the list. If you have created multiple accounts and thus are receiving multiple copies of this, let us know if you want any removed.
MAINTENANCE Saturday May 16th 2009 7:00 AM PDT.
We are in the process of switching over to a new and more secure server system. However doing so will require that the Teaboy service will be down for a brief period of time. Starting on the 16th at 7AM PDT you should expect that the Teaboy service may be down for up to 24 hours. While we only anticipate a few hours, DNS changes can sometimes take up to 24. So it would be best to prepare for the possibility that the service may be unavailable for the entire day. If you plan on recalling any work, make sure to print out those songs before hand so you will have access to them. We apologize if this down time presents an inconvenience and hope that you understand that this is still a testing period.
NEW SOFTWARE
Teaboy Release Client will be available on Saturday as well. We recommend that everyone download the new client. It fixes many bugs, and will work much faster and more efficiently with the new server. Shortly after the switch over client version 0.7.0.1 will no longer be able to access the server. You will be able to download the new client on Saturday from the following link:

BETA TESTING ENDING June 1st 2009
Normally the beta testing of a software service is done with a few select amount of people. However because this service can be so useful to people we decided to make it open to the public so many could get some use out of it without having to wait. We also gained some very helpful feedback and we thank everyone for their help. The time has come however where Teaboy is now ready to go live. The free testing period will continue until June 1st unless any major problems should arise. If you decided that you do not wish to continue using Teaboy after the test period, then you may want to make printouts of your work for long term storage.
No work will be lost after this point. If you created a test account, and decide not to continue, your work will still be kept, and you will still be able to access your work even after June 1st. You simply will not be able to save or print any more work, but your current work will not be removed nor will any accounts. And you will be able to upgrade your test accounts, thus keeping your current login and data.
TEABOY PACKAGES
TEABOY DEMO - Anyone can sign up for a free demo account which never expires. By default all beta test accounts will become demo accounts after the 1st of June. A demo account will allow anyone to load in as much gear as needed and utilize all areas of the software. However the Demo account does not allow songs to be saved or printed. This allows you to get full access to the software and service you desire. Beta testers will still be able to open their previously saved songs.
TEABOY STANDARD - The Standard service is for those with a smaller budget and a smaller set up. Teaboy Standard users can store up to 10 songs and save songs with up to 10 pieces of gear. Teaboy Standard users will also be able to print songs to PDF. This is perfect for those with a small set up who may not have a need for long term storage of song files other than as PDF printouts. For those who only need to store their current projects before moving on to newer ones.
$12.99 per month or
$59.94 for 6 months ($9.99/mo. A $23 savings)
TEABOY PRO - The Pro membership allows for unlimited access. There are no limits to the number of songs that can be stored, no limits to the number of pieces of gear that can be used, and no limit to printing. This package is meant for the large-scale high end user who may have a large amount of gear to recall and the need for long-term storage of their work.
$19.99 per month or
$95.94 for 6 months ($15.99/mo. A $24 savings)
RE-OCCURRING BILLING
Billing will automatically recycle after each billing period until service is canceled. If service is canceled, then the account will remain active until the end of that billing period. If service is canceled, user data will be kept so that should service be reactivated, that data will once again be accessible. So for example, should you decide to cancel your account for a year and then sign back up, you will be able to pick up where you left off.
FUTURE UPDATES
Teaboy software and services will continually be updated. There are many features people have asked about that will not be in this initial release. This does not however mean those features will not be added. This will allow the service to be used by many people without having to wait for every possible feature to be added. As more features are added, more people will be able to use the service. Some of the features to be added soon after release for example are saving presets and being able to display multiple pieces of gear on a single recall sheet. Content will continuously be added as well and the release of the service will help towards creating new content.
